Much has been said about manifesting abundance since the release of ‘The Secret’ and the ‘Law of Attraction’ came on the scene. We know these philosophies are not new, and yet opening up our minds and hearts to allow for the flow of abundance in today’s times may seem ominous. We only make it that way when we block the flow of energy from entering in and around us. When you open up to that flow within (your mind) and around you (your body and the space that surrounds you), something happens. You produce abundance.

I love the depth of the words productivity and abundance:

Productivity… generate, create, make, bring into being, churn, emit, deliver, harvest!   Abundance… profuse, wealth, prosper, treasure, fortune, resource, cornucopia, plenty, multiplicity!

“Imagine yourself harvesting wealth that you bring into being from what you intend.” With permission from Wellness Expressions.

You are producing energy and allowing it to flow—in other words, you are producing currency!  Moreover, what is this currency you are producing really?  It may be an exchange of money, resources, energy, health, ideas, words, the air we breathe!

Here are more words to ponder for the meaning of currency: prevalence, frequency, circulation! You create currency more often when you allow it to flow!  There are two intertwined important characteristics here… it is you in relationship to productivity and productivity in relationship to abundance! They work together!

The ancient ones understood this very well—like turning on a switch to allow nature’s abundance to flow. Like wind and water—when you place a boat into its element, water, it begins to float and may glide across the water. When you add wind and hold the sail into the wind, the boat moves forward, and when you place the rudder of the boat into the water, you create an ability to move through the water with clear direction—you come about and are in command.  Take away the wind – the boat drifts aimlessly. Take away the water and the boat is no longer in its element to support its occupants.

This is a gentle way of looking at wind and water—also a gentle way of looking at abundance. We know that wind and water each have an ability to be destructive. However, spending time and energy fighting this negative potential blocks our abundance. By allowing the natural flow of wind and water’s energy to support you as opportunity, you produce a thriving life—you generate abundance. When any changes in nature take place, you flow with the wind and water, and have the strength to move away from its force when necessary.

You have just received your first lesson in Feng Shui—wind is Feng and water is Shui—the Chinese translation for living according to the natural order of wind and water. When you integrate these principles into your living and working environment, you learn to balance your own basic nature with the natural order of your environment and generate a harmonious outcome—abundance!

When we take this ancient tradition and marry it with our present day living and working environment, we create a new perspective that enhances our productivity and abundance naturally.

Next month we will explore how to produce a path of abundance together using the principles of Feng Shui. We will also see how this incorporates the more modern terminologies of Green Living and Design!
